Jacelyn Lisette (Ms. Jackie)
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jacelyn has been teaching dance classes since 2011. Prior to her college career, Jacelyn trained in Ballet and Modern dance at Young Dancers in Repertory's Center for Dance Studies where she also performed with the Youth Touring Ensemble. Jacelyn holds a BFA in Theater Arts with a minor in Dance from Adelphi University. While completing her degree, Jaclyn worked with the internationally known Galli Theater Company in Manhattan. She was a repertory actor playing title roles in children's fairy tales such as The Little Mermaid, Princess and the Pea and Little Red Riding Hood. She has also worked Off-Broadway and in TV and Film. Currently, Jacelyn continues to train at Broadway Dance Center and STEPS on Broadway in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and conditioning techniques: Pilates and Floor Barre. She is a repertory member of Teatro SEA; a bilingual theater company in NYC and has worked as a Guest Teaching Artist in public and charter schools for the past 5 years. These experiences have created a love of teaching children and a passion for bringing imagination, movement, creativity and mind-body awareness to young developing minds. She has worked steadily under the direction of Marija Raaen Tilmann; owner and Lead Instructor of City Moves Dance Studio since 2014. With Marija's discsion to move her family to Wisconsin, and the help and guidance of Ms. Marija; Ms. Jackie has made the decision to start her her own company and continue to work with the students and families of City Moves Dance Studio. She hopes to continue to deliver an equal level of programming in the subject of Ballet, while also introducing some new movement classes to the schedule.
